OK–I admit it. My new (Kick Ass) website is designed as a shameless marketing ploy. Please check it out: http://www.davidcarlmielke.com. Let me explain.
I have added a new series of novels: THE LENA MILLS TRILOGY, about women who are tired of being abused, taken advantage of, cheated, and decide to do something about it.
One day I was at my local Publix Market when one of the check-out ladies asked me about my author t-shirt and what I wrote about. When I flippantly replied, “Women who kick butt,” she took a bunch of my business cards and passed them out to all of her friends.
The next week, I noticed that the hits on my website had tripled. Not only that, but there have been two recent hit movies titled “Kickass” and “Kickass 2.” Now, I’m no marketing genius, but no fool either. Sales of my books have gone up considerably thanks to my “flippant remark” and subsequent actions to drive traffic to the website. Ergo, the title. Most everyone who reads MYSTIC SISTERS, the first LENA MILLS book, ends up reading the two sequels, so I must be doing something right.
A couple of well-respected editors remarked:
“Original adventures; Central Florida setting has authentic feel; extremely likable characters; use of humor successfully balances darker aspects of the plot.” Christine DeZelar Tiedman, Editor, THE LIBRARY JOURNAL
“Strong, well written; wonderfully hilarious and fast-paced, exciting story; comical, zany, off-the-wall characters.”— Tyler Tichelaar, Editor, READER VIEWS
I invite each of you to check out these three novels, and if you read one or more of them, please leave brief comments either on the Amazon book sites, my website comment page, or here on my blog site.
Until next time–
